So I am going to talk about the importance of 4C’s  - Creativity, Critical Thinking, Communication and Collaboration. These 4C’s help the child to Design, Make, and Learn.

Every child has a special needs. So why not teach them the way they want to learn?

Using 3Dbear in your classroom helps to enhance:

Creativity teaches students to think in a way that's unique to them. It means students centered. It helps in building open ended design challenges and creative storytelling.

Critical Thinking – Helps students to view things from different angles and re-designing the concept taking from a real-life example.

Communication teaches students how to efficiently convey ideas. It can be in a visual way sharing the ideas, thoughts and creations. Building communication skills helps in social emotional learning also.

Collaboration teaches students to work in a team and work in a shared classroom. It teaches them to negotiate and resolve conflicts and helps them to create something bigger.

Combined, the four C's empower students to become one-person think tanks.

Let’s see six Use cases from my teacher’s classrooms:

  • Create a story: - In this lesson students learnt the skill of comprehension.

Teacher has created a scene of the story and presented it to students in the class.

She gave the option to the students to video each other in the scene while they act out parts and create the missing story. Watch the lesson here

  • Problem Solving/ Decision making: Identifying Farm animals:- Students solved the problem  on seeing the problem statement given by the teachers and solved the problem using Decision Making skill.

  • Creativity/collaboration: Learning alphabets

The kindergarten teacher used this lesson to teach alphabets. While teaching the letter ‘d’ she not only taught the letter ‘d’ but also enhanced their vocabulary by adding the objects.

Children re-created the learning and learnt how to communicate and collaborate with their peers.

  • Social emotional learning: emotions

Students learned about emotions and responses to emotions. Students were asked to create a scene with two different emotions, explain why each person was showing the emotion, and then describe how someone might help the person with the negative emotion.

In another lesson, students created a scene from a personal experience, and then the class guessed then discussed the emotions displayed along with possible suggestions or actions.

  • Create scenes from a book : Students used collections, their own objects, or objects from Thingiverse and created a scene from a book they were reading

As we know that we are teaching the learners of Generation Z. It is imperative to talk the language they understand. We teachers should adopt the techniques our learners understand. I would sum-up with the very basic – ABC

A – Aware - It is very important that we as teachers should be aware of actual need Vs the expectations of the learners.

B – Build the Competencies and Capabilities – We as teachers must experiment enough as there is daily a scope of improvement so that our children can Create, Communicate, Collaborate and Connect.

C – Change - We should be ready to assimilate the Change as change is the only constant.
