The Promoting Participation of Older Adults online learning material is designed for the older adult care and rehabilitation specialization. The material focuses on supporting older adults' individual, personally meaningful life and participation. Students learn to understand the physiological effects of aging on functional capacity, memory disorders and their treatment, and the significance of self-determination. The material covers supporting daily activities and routines, as well as caregiver ergonomics. Practical skills are built through 360° simulation exercises in an assisted living environment and avatar conversation exercises where students practice professional interaction with different stakeholders.
