Finnish as a Second Language (S2), 7 cr — Simuna

Common units learning material — Communication and Interaction, Finnish as a Second Language (S2), 7 cr. Simuna's field-specific online learning material.

Simuna's S2 Finnish as a Second Language online learning material is coming in fall 2026. It covers the full common qualification module Communication and Interaction in the Mother Tongue, Finnish as a Second Language (mandatory 4 cr + one elective 3 cr = 7 cr). The mandatory part consists of three modules based on working-life communication situations plus seven field-specific customisation modules. The elective part is built around the learner growth roles Reader, Writer and Speaker and culminates in an escape game that combines skills from all three. Practical skills are built through approximately ten field-specific AI conversation exercises — writing to a supervisor, responding to a joke at the coffee break, answering customer questions — using the vocabulary of the student's own field.
